Jack Petchey Award ScienceBTEC Level 2 Applied Science student, Angel Gurung, has won a Jack Petchey Award for her outstanding contribution to her course.

The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme recognises the positive contributions, efforts, and endeavours of young people aged 11-25 across London and Essex. These achievements include being a great role model, volunteering, overcoming personal challenges, and supporting others over and above expectations.

Each term exceptional students are nominated by their classmates and teachers to win a Jack Petchey award. The winner receives a £300 grant, which can be used for anything that will benefit the class outside of necessary materials, which are provided by the college.

Jack Petchey Award Science StudentAngel is described as a great student with a positive attitude toward teachers and classmates. She always finishes her work on time and consistently achieves high grades. She is kind and helpful and always supportive of her peers.

Science Lecturer, Sundus Abdulrazaq, says about her student:

“Angel comes to every lesson on time with a big, friendly smile. She works hard, enjoys learning, and sets a good example for others.”

Angel comments on her achievement:

“Winning the Jack Petchey Award means a lot to me because it shows my efforts are being recognised by my fellow classmates. It motivates me to keep improving, helping others, and making a positive impact at college.”
