Earlier in May, representatives from Hilton Syon Park visited Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) to present career options and opportunities to both our Catering and Travel & Tourism students.
The HR Manager, Operations Manager and Chef de Partie from the Hilton Hotel in Syon Park spoke to our eager students in The View restaurant on campus, explaining various opportunities available to them within the Hilton company. Students were also given the chance to ask questions related to job prospects and work experience.
The Chef de Partie, Clifford, who is one of our alumni students, also had a private talk with our Level 3 Catering students to facilitate part-time job opportunities for the summer.
Following up from this meeting, next academic year, a group of students will be visiting the hotel facilities with a view of taking on work experience opportunities.
Catering Lecturer, Daniele Giraud, commented on the day:
“Guests were thoroughly impressed by the facilities and the professionalism and commitment of our students. It was a truly valuable experience for the learners. We are proud to offer industry links such as this through the college.”
