Level 2 Digital Technology student, Suhaan Sirpal, was selected to win a Jack Petchey Award in recognition of his outstanding dedication and positive impact within the college community.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme recognises the positive contributions, efforts, and endeavours of young people aged 11-25 across London and Essex. These achievements include being a great role model, volunteering, overcoming personal challenges, and supporting others over and above expectations.
Each term exceptional students are nominated by their classmates and teachers to win a Jack Petchey award. The winner receives a £300 grant, which can be used for anything that will benefit the class outside of necessary materials, which are provided by the college.
Suhaan consistently demonstrates a helpful and supportive attitude, always willing to assist his peers with their work, contributing to a collaborative learning environment. His excellent attendance and punctuality reflect his commitment to his studies, and he is always on time and well-prepared for every lesson. Polite and respectful in all interactions, he has also earned the respect of his classmates, who elected him as their class representative.
His tutor's comment, “Suhaan’s exemplary behaviour and dedication make him a truly deserving recipient of this award.”
Suhaan says of his achievement, “I feel very honoured and grateful to have won the Jack Petchey Award. Also, I feel very grateful that I have been noticed and chosen to be worthy of winning the Jack Petchey Award and I would really recommend other people if they get an opportunity to try their hardest to win it.”
