Richmond upon Thames College held its annual Work and Training Fair on Wednesday 6 March as part of National Careers Week - a celebration of careers guidance and opportunities across the UK. Organised by the College's careers staff and attended by over 500 students, the Work and Training fair gave students a flavour of the employment and training opportunities available to them during and after their time at college.

Employers and volunteering organisations represented on the day included John Lewis, Nuffield Health, Premier Inn, BT, Richmond Theatre and QA Apprenticeships.

Aryan Khan, Recruitment and Work Based Learning Officer for QA Apprenticeships, said: "The event was a great success from our point of view and all of the students we spoke to were polite, interested and enthusiastic. We had a number of high calibre students apply for the apprenticeship positions available with QA which is a real testament to the college."

National Careers Week (4-8 March) was organised by Careersinfo in partnership with Barclays. It is a UK-wide celebration of careers information, advice and guidance, developed to encourage education providers to bring together students, local employers and advisers to provide careers activities. It aims to inspire schools, academies and colleges to offer careers advice and guidance, highlighting the free resources and support available, while at the same time, inspiring employers to connect with young people.
