After enjoying drinks and canapés provided by the college's catering and hospitality students, representatives from companies including Atkins Engineering, Haymarket Media, Historic Royal Palaces, Bolger Designs and Richmond Housing Partnership were given a presentation from Richmond upon Thames College CEO and Principal, Robin Ghurbhurun (pictured, below), updating them on the college's new campus development and outlining the college's vision to establish itself as a major gateway to local employment that works closely with the business community.
"Our vision is to establish Richmond upon Thames College as the flagship for employer engaged and endorsed colleges of the future," Mr Ghurbhurun explained. "The new campus will deliver the highest quality education with outstanding opportunities for developing skills and pursuing employment, through access to industry defined resources, experiences of work specific to the sectors, Apprenticeships, Higher Education and, ultimately jobs."
"We aim to work closely with local businesses to shape and provide a skilled supply chain of students that will enhance their performance whilst also creating serviced incubator spaces for business start-ups and access to a business café to exchange ideas."
"We are delighted that our first ever employer event attracted many key businesses from the local community and look forward to hosting similar events as the redevelopment plans continue to progress."
