Top chairman visits College

Thursday 3 April 2014

David Dein, former vice-chairman of both Arsenal Football Club and the Football Association, visited the College on Wednesday 2 April to deliver an inspiring talk to business and sports students.

Mr Dein spent an hour talking to over 100 students about business and football, touching on a variety of subjects including league turnover, attendance figures, foreign investment, financial stability and developing home grown talent.

During the visit, he also gave students valuable advice on how to succeed in life, drawing on his personal achievements and experiences in football to demonstrate the importance of commitment and perseverance.

Sport student James Padfield was one of the students to attend the talk. "I'm an Arsenal fan so listening to Mr Dein talk about hiring Arsene Wenger and how he signed legends such as Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas was fascinating," he said. "I also enjoyed hearing about how he helped create the Premier League as it proved how a strong desire to succeed can lead to huge success."

Mr Dein is now an ambassador for the Premier League.
