'Ignite', a collaborative effort coordinated by College dance lecturer Alena Bennett, blended a mix of youth and experience and featured performances from a host of local dance schools including Richmond College, CoDa Youth Dance Company, Age of Grace, Tiffin Dance Company, Hampton Academy, B-D-1 Dance Company, Arch 197, Kristi's Dance Academy and Kingston Youth Dance Company.
"This is now the second year that we've hosted Ignite and once again it has proven to be a great success," said RuTC's Alena Bennett. "It's wonderful that we can showcase all the talented dancers - young and old - that the local area has, and credit must go to every performer and choreographer involved in tonight's performances."
Sophie Bradbury, a first year BTEC dance student at Richmond College, was one of over a hundred dancers to take part in the event. "The whole feel of tonight's show was really nice as it celebrated dance throughout different levels and age groups," said Sophie. "It was great to see so many different styles and techniques being performed and the feedback we had from the more experienced dancers was really encouraging."
