On Monday 8 July, Richmond upon Thames College’s (RuTC) members of staff were offered various activities, talks and workshops for their wellbeing.
There were a number of talks, including healthy eating, prostate cancer and presentations on staff pensions. Some of RuTC’s own staff offered workshops, for example construction crafts teacher Simon Walker held two mindfulness and meditation sessions. 5-minute posture and spinal checks were offered in the college’s sports hall, where staff could also play badminton, wheelchair basketball, trampolining, circuit training and tag rugby throughout the day. Everyone enjoyed getting away from their desks and being active.
To round up this academic term, a staff awards ceremony with a BBQ took place the following day. Awards included the Teacher, Business Support Staff Member, Team of the Year and Leadership Award.
