On Tuesday 16 October and Thursday 18 October, Construction Crafts (Plumbing) and Construction and the Built Environment students from Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) visited the build of the college’s new campus. As part of the enrichment activity, students were given a tour of the building which is to be completed by the end of 2019.
ISG, the construction services company responsible for the college’s redevelopment, gave the students a safety induction and held a presentation at the office. Students had the chance to discuss the construction process with a graduate trainee and a member of the commercial team. RuTC students then had a tour where they were able to have a preview of the new campus building.
Alison Jones, Employment Skills Co-ordinator at RuTC, said: “ISG were great hosts and not only provided all personal protective equipment for our use during the tour but also equipped the group with a copy of the designer report which will aid students as they are doing work on this now as part of their course.”
