RuTC Launches Student Entrepreneurship Programme

Wednesday 16 November 2016

Richmond upon Thames College is launching an entrepreneurship programme for aspiring student entrepreneurs. A student-led start-up company is being formed to create and sell products in line with developing the college’s enterprise brand titled ‘RICH’.

Students who are successfully chosen to form part of the founding ‘RICH Entrepreneurs’ team will have access to mentors and industry experts to help turn ideas into real market products. Students can apply for any of the following seven roles: Managing Director, Research and Product Manager, Marketing and Web Manager, Sales Manager, Sponsorship Manager, Project Manager and Finance Manager.

Nilar Zaw, Creative Curriculum Director, commented, "this is a very unique opportunity for students to build the skills required for entrepreneurship. It not only equips students with the transferable skill-set to one day start their own business, but also works to enhance their personal portfolio for university, apprenticeship or job applications."

To be accepted onto the RICH Entrepreneurship Programme, students must complete the 5 minute online application form by 6th January 2017. If students are successful with an application, they will be invited for a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style interview, during the week commencing 16th January 2017. The company will then launch towards the end of January 2017.
