RuTC Graphics Lecturer Published by Leading Magazine

Friday 7 October 2016

This month Tim Pond, Lecturer in Graphic Communications and Illustration at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC), has been recognised for his expertise in wildlife illustration by a high-end international magazine, 3D Artist. The publication is sold at leading retailers such as WH Smith at £6 per issue and provides a portfolio of high quality tutorial-based products to help those pursuing a career in graphics. Tim is featured in the 99th issue of the magazine, where he exclusively reveals tips for accuracy in drawing anatomical art.

Tim is not only known for his graphics expertise as a lecturer at RuTC, but also as an Associate Artist at the Zoological Society of London and a speaker at the Royal Veterinary College, in addition to his dip pen and ink work which has appeared in the Guardian Newspaper. Tim’s passion for graphics is evident through his teaching at RuTC and through the monthly drawing workshops he organises at the weekend for people of all abilities. You can see his online portfolio here.

Tim commented “The 3D Artist magazine feature draws upon the work I have been doing with students studying A level Graphics and UAL Creative Media at RuTC.” His work has inspired many graphic students at RuTC including Chilli Dohm who won the college’s Christmas Card Competition with her wildlife sketch of a reindeer, students who worked with the Design Museum to create products for their gift shop, students who exhibited art at RuTC’s most innovative exhibition to date and Gabriela Kozlowska who most recently designed the college’s new enterprise brand titled ‘Rich’.
