The winning student, 16 year-old Gabriela Kozlowska, was awarded an iPad by Robin Ghurbhurun, Principal & CEO at RuTC, as the prize for her winning submission titled ‘Rich Designs’. Gabriela is in her first year at RuTC studying AS Level Graphic Design, Fine Art, Maths and Philosophy & Ethics. She produced a whole portfolio demonstrating how the ‘Rich Designs’ brand could be applied to various products including ‘Rich Foods’, ‘Rich Clothing’ and many more products to be sold in the college’s future pop-up shop.
The brand forms part of RuTC’s initiative to encourage the commercial application of skills learnt at college through developing and branding student products for real life sales. The initiative encourages students to further engage with the college’s existing ‘Made in Richmond’ brand, of which many RuTC Alumni members already identify with.
Gabriela commented, “Rich Designs represents how RuTC is rich with opportunities for students to explore their abilities and talent. The college provides students with incredible opportunities and I would like to encourage fellow students to showcase their work through the Rich Designs brand. I’ve been interested in logos, products and branding since I was 7 years old, so this competition has helped me to define
After completing her A Levels, Gabriela is excited to continue studying with RuTC to complete a Foundation Diploma in Graphics. Following this, she hopes to study Graphics at University. Gabriela has expressed her happiness and gratitude for the iPad prize, which she will be using as a tool to help with the development of her graphic design skills.
