Over 480 RuTC students flock to Freshers' Fair kick starting the year with success

Monday 5 October 2015

Last week Richmond upon Thames College held its annual Freshers’ Fair. It was an unprecedented success as 487 students made it through the door for an array of opportunities presented by career representatives, Richmond Xtra student societies, clubs and activities, community organisations and health representatives.

Students participated in various activities including writing their suggestions for the changes they would like to see in the world on a portable wall. Volunteer opportunities were snapped up with Amnesty International, Volunteer Richmond and Duke of Edinburgh Richmond. Students were also encouraged by their fellow classmates to sign up for a wide choice of student led activities including Oxbridge Club, Debate Club and writing for the student newspaper.

The fair gave the College’s new students the opportunity to meet with 5 potential employers including FMC Wimbledon, LSS, Admiral Recruitment, Michael Wisher and Koosa Kids.

If students felt a little tired after such incredible exposure they had the choice of re-energising by riding a smoothie bike with Chartwells, snacking with Yu! Fruit Snacks or trialling the College trampoline.
