On February 5, former A level student Oddie Mehraj visited the College to give a talk to students about apprenticeships. Oddie graduated from Richmond upon Thames College in 2013.

He successfully applied for one of only 200 places on the Civil Service Fast Track Apprenticeship Scheme and now works at the Cabinet Office as Executive Assistant to the ERG HR Director.

"After leaving College, I decided that I wanted to gain more qualifications in a real-life working environment, rather than attend university," Oddie explained. "The Civil Service Fast Track Apprenticeship Scheme was perfect as it means I'm now studying for a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship qualification whilst working regular hours and earning a wage. After two years, I'll have developed a range of skills that will enable me to apply for graduate career opportunities. It's really great for my career and I couldn't be happier."
