Jack Lumb (pictured, above) qualified in first place at the BCS regional golf championship – held at Richmond Park Golf Club - dominating the event despite wet and windy conditions throughout. The talented BTEC sports and exercise student, who plays off a handicap of 5 and represents both Sunbury Golf Club and Surrey County at competition level, now heads to the 2014 national championships where he'll represent both the College and the London region.
"To finish first despite the terrible conditions was a proud moment and also a bit of a shock!" Jack said. "It's a real honour to now be representing London at the BCS national finals and I'm really looking forward to competing with the country's best young golfers."
In the BCS regional cross country championships at Richmond Park, AS level student Daniel Pinn and BTEC sport student D'yon Christopher (pictured) finished second and fourth in the boy's 7.5km race, ensuring that they too qualified for the BCS national championships, to be held at the University of Bath in April next year.
