Merits Training Restaurant is Richmond upon Thames College's commercial restaurant where our talented trainee chefs and waiting staff serve fine dining lunches and dinners to a variety of local charities, businesses and people from Richmond, Twickenham, Kingston, Surbiton, Teddington, Barnes, Hounslow and other surrounding areas.
Not only do our students get to train in a commercial restaurant, they also have the opportunity to work in the college's canteen, creating and serving lunch every day to our staff and students. In 2019 the catering department bought a food van and attended their first festival, The Big Bash in Dorking, where they made at served food to the 1,200 festival goers.
Additionally, our Catering and Hospitality students receive work experience and Apprenticeship opportunities at some of the top restaurants in London!
In Spring 2020, we will be moving into our brand new college, the Richmond Building. Catering and Hospitality students will train in a brand new restaurant with one of the best views in London, overlooking Twickenham Rugby Stadium.
