  • Who is the course for?

This course is aimed at students who are 19 years and older.

  • Study methods

Formative assessments are a key feature of the course. We expect to engage formatively with students via practical activities as a routine feature.

In addition, generic feedback on both interim and end assessments will be accessible using the Microsoft Teams platform for a range of modules.

This strategy coupled to traditional timetabled face-to-face feedback throughout the course is expected to develop the student understanding of expectations of graduate performance levels and should form part of the on-line reflective feedback process.

  • How is the course assessed?

Learning activities are focused on moving towards student-centred learning from a more tutor centred approach. Level 5 modules are a little more student-centred, with tutors acting to facilitate students’ learning.

Students will be presented with theoretical information in lecture sessions and then will use workshops, group tutorials, seminars, on-line forums, electronic tutorials, directed reading and a range of IT-based activities and formative assessments to develop these concepts.

For students to be eligible for funding from Student Finance England, they must be studying on an eligible course at a provider registered with the Office for Students (OfS). The OfS is the new independent regulator for higher education in England and all higher education providers need to register with the OfS for their students to be eligible for student support in the 2024-25 academic year. The OfS has published providers on its Register and HRUC (and HCUC as we were know before Jan 2023) has been registered since 10 December 2018. Please visit www.officeforstudents.org.uk for more information.

As a higher education student at HRUC you will be able to participate in a range of extra-curricular enrichment opportunities and activities to gain essential employability skills to enable you to become even more work-ready.
