Mandatory course units include:

  • Measuring waves used in technology

  • Exploring Chemistry
  • Exploring Physics.

    At the end of the year you will have built a portfolio of work to be used to represent your ability in the future.
  • Entry requirements

    You should have an interest in the subject area you are applying for. There are no formal entry requirements but we will assess your level of English and maths to make sure you are working at Entry Level 3 or above. This is to ensure you are able to meet the course requirements.

    You will be taught through classroom teaching, homework learning, practical activities, debates, presentations, group work and research.

    This is a 100% coursework-based course, comprising of ten units. Each unit is assessed by an assignment.

    A BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Applied Science provides a good grounding to go on to a more advanced course such as: BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Applied Science, Medical Science or related Science / Technology areas.
