Carpentry and Joinery (Bench) Level 2
Bench joiners are more concerned with producing wooden products such as windows, doors, fitted cupboards etc which are produced in a workshop. There are also specialised carpenters/joiners who work on film sets, stages, boats etc.
Bench joiners may build staircases or fitted kitchens. Some carpenters/joiners may go on to specialise in restoration work. This course will further develop the skills learnt on a level 1 carpentry or joinery qualification.

What will I study and learn?
A variety of models ranging from a gallows bracket this will teach you laminating, a door, window and staircase as well as comprehensive machine training.

How is the course assessed?
You will be assessed on individual pieces as well as a practical end test. And there are several on-line exams.

What formal entry requirements will I need?
Minimum Requirements - Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery
AND
GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or Level 1 Functional Skills.

Are there any costs involved?
All students will have to provide appropriate personal protective equipment (overalls and safety boots) at approximately no more than £50. You will also need to buy a calculator and memory stick.
