5 GCSEs grade 9-5 (grade C and above) in academic subjects, including English and Maths.

Some subjects will require grades 9-6 (grade B and above) to study at AS-Level. Please see individual subjects using the link above.

If you haven’t taken traditional qualifications, or have not studied in the UK, we may be able to offer you a place based on your performance in an entry test.

If you are aged 18 and under and do not have grade 9-4 in GCSE English or Maths you will have to study these subjects alongside your AS subjects. To progress from AS to A-Level, students need a minimum of 3 ASs at grade D or above. A satisfactory reference may be required.

  • Who is the course for?

This programme is suitable for students who wish to study a range of different subjects and intend to progress onto A2-Levels and into higher education.

  • Study methods

All courses are on-site, and each subject is 5 hours per week. All students will study for AS Levels in the first year of their A-Level course. Students normally take three subjects.

  • How is the course assessed?

The AS (Advanced Subsidiary) Levels are composed of exams that are taken in May/June. To complete a full A-Level, a further year of study is required, and the new reformed qualifications are assessed through final exams, covering work from both years, taken in May/June.

There is a coursework component in some subjects. The Applied courses are 50% coursework and 50% exam assessed.
