Qualifications on entry – UKNARIC and IELTs

Please note that if you are not studying GCSEs then it will be necessary for you to have your qualifications translated into their UK equivalents. This can be done via UKNARIC. UKNARIC is a British government organisation who specialise in translating overseas qualifications into their GCSE equivalents. You can find more information about them via their website: https://www.naric.org.uk/naric/

Please be aware however that UKNARIC can only translate completed qualifications and so if your qualifications are not completed please do not contact them.

In the circumstances that you are not studying GCSEs we would strongly urge you to take an IELTs test. This is a test to check your level of English. They have exam centres all over the world and you can find more information on this website: https://www.ielts.org

In order to achieve the equivalent of a C grade in GCSE English Language you will need to score 5.5 in all four sections of the IELTS test (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). Please be aware however that some universities may require you to score 6.5 in all sections and so as a result we would encourage you to study GCSE English Language alongside your programme with us if you do not meet this score.
