Learn to ask the oldest questions and understand what shaped society centuries ago in History and Philosophy
The world today is shaped by the events and influential people of yesterday. In order to understand most world concepts a knowledge of the past is essential. Spend your time learning about the fascinating philosophic theories of Plato and Aristotle while also studying how thinking today is shaped by ethical theory. Take an in depth look at how culture was formed in Europe or the United Kingdom. Study History and/or Philosophy to satisfy your desire to learn more about the things of the past.
Your course options include:
- Focus on the three biggest European powers of the 20th Century; Germany, Great Britain and Russia, studying in depth the Cold War, Soviet Union and the Russian Revolution in our History: Modern European AS/A Level course.
- Investigate the existence and nature of God and theories of free will, conscience and determination in our Philosophy and Ethics AS/A2 Level course.
The study of humanities is a great and common pathway into careers in law, politics, journalism, publishing or museum curation. Many of our students have gone on to study degrees in humanities at top, Russell Group universities and Oxbridge.
