  • Want to change the course you've applied for?

That's not a problem, you don't need to submit a new application form, just email our Admissions team to let them know: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  • What happens after you apply?

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email from us.

We have changed our application process to support the current Covid-19 landscape and to minimise face-to-face contact where we can.

The next step in the process will depend on what you have applied for:

    A Levels
If you have applied for A Levels, we will send you some information by email about our A Level application process and how that will work from our Head of Sixth Form, Helen Upfield. Helen will talk you through how to choose your full A Level programme and you will be required to complete an online form to confirm the 3 A Level subjects you wish to study.

Once we have received your chosen subjects, our Admissions team will process this and you should then receive a conditional offer. We will keep in touch with you throughout the year regarding information about the College so please check your email and our New Student Moodle for regular updates. You will have a face-to-face interview at Enrolment in August/September 2021.

Access to HE and GCSE Pathway
Once we have your application for Access to Higher Education or GCSE Pathway, our Admissions team will be in contact to arrange a telephone interview with you and a member or the teaching team. You will also be invited in during the summer to complete the Skills Builder assessment and then finalise your enrolment.

Creative Arts and Media and Performing Arts
If you have applied for vocational courses in Art, Media, Acting, Dance or Music (not A Levels, please see above), we will be in contact with you to arrange a video audition/telephone interview with a relevant subject teacher, where you will need to show evidence of your work.

If successful, you should then receive a conditional offer by email from our Admissions team.

    All Other Courses
Once we have received your application, it will be processed by our Admissions team and you should receive a conditional offer by email, which is offered on the condition that you will meet the entry requirements for the course. You may be interviewed by a member of our teaching team when you come along to enrol in August/September 2021.

  • Conditional offer

Once your application has been approved, you will receive what's called a conditional offer. This means that you have your place on the course you want to study, as long as your meet the entry requirements for the course. You can check entry requirements on individual course pages, you can also check these on our Entry Requirements page.

  • Application closing date

We do not have a an official closing date for applications but we advise that you apply as early as possible during the academic year to guarantee you a place on the course you want to study.

  • Enrolment

Enrolment is essentially the final stage of the application process and will take place from 12th August (GCSE results day) with some enrolment by invitation taking place on Monday 9th August.

Enrolment is where your place at college is finalised and we add your details to the system to make you an official Richmond upon Thames College students. Details about Enrolment will be sent via email during the summer.

  • Applying for an Apprenticeship

Applying for an Apprenticeship is a little different to applying for A Levels or a vocational course. Apprenticeships are jobs with training, so rather than applying for the course, you apply for the job. You can search our Apprenticeship vacancies by clicking the button below.
