A Fun-filled Freshers’ Fair Welcomes Students
Thursday 23 September 2021Richmond upon Thames College’s annual Freshers’ Fair took place on Wednesday 22 September and provided students with a fun-filled day full of activities stands. After a virtual Fresher’s fair in 2020, this year students were able to make the most of in-person activities and enjoy getting to know each other outside the classroom.
Students were able to browse stands from local services including Off the Record, Mind Richmond, Metro Charity, NCS, Nuffield Health, Anthony Nolan Foundation and Heatham House, which were promoting their organisations and handing out information and treats.
Students also enjoyed racing each other on the inflatable obstacle course and battling it out with glow in the dark table tennis. The day’s highlights were music performances from Media teacher, Henry Knudsen on the saxophone, and students Nia Videnova and Okan Kosanoglu who bravely took to the mic to sing and rap in the atrium to a large audience of students and staff.
Beth Pattison, Student Engagement and Equalities Lead, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came together to make Freshers Fair 2021 an enormous success. Our students had an amazing time, and it was great to see them together and enjoying themselves after such a difficult year. Feedback from students has been excellent and a great time was had by all.”
