Richmond upon Thames College’s (RuTC) Supported Learning students recently celebrated Halloween by preparing and serving a Halloween inspired menu at the college’s Apple Tree Café including ‘pumpkin cupcakes’ and ‘ghouly sweets’. The café offers lunch Mondays to Thursdays for the college community.
The College’s Supported Learning students have a number of specialist facilities including their own café and kitchen where they learn key transferable skills to build confidence and learn about different job roles. In addition to the café and kitchen, other specialist facilities iinclude an Independent Living Flat, dedicated computer rooms, a snack shop and more.
Mitsu Butler, Supported Learning teacher at RuTC, said, "Working in the Apple Tree Café gives our students real work experience. The students work together as a team as they prepare and cook delicious food and enjoyed taking part in planning this special Halloween themed event for the café."
