RuTC Welcomes New Students at Freshers’ Fair

This week, students at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) have enjoyed a wide range of activities to welcome them into the new academic year. The fair was attended by a variety of organisations including the Hampton based children’s hospice Shooting Star Chase, the National Citizen Service (NCS), the young person’s care service, Off the Record, based in Twickenham and Friends of the Earth – a brand new partnership for RuTC.

The fair ran over three days and included wellbeing stands, giveaways and a chance for students to sign up to a variety of enrichment activities including sports teams and the Student Ambassador programme.

Free food tasters were given out to students which included a selection of Chinese foods, smoothies from Love Smoothie and cakes from The Wicked Cake Company.

Cait Orton, Safeguarding and Equalities Officer at RuTC, commented: “it has been fantastic welcoming our new and returning students to RuTC this week and showing them how to make the most of their time at the college and in the local community. A big thank you to all of the great organisations who helped make this week such a success.”
