RuTC Staff and Students Promote Positive Action on International Women’s Day 2017

Wednesday 8 March 2017

On Wednesday 8th March, staff and students of all genders at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) are being invited to celebrate International Women’s Day 2017.

Staff and students at the college are being encouraged to take photographs of themselves holding a placard that expresses their thoughts on what being a woman means, and share this across the college and on social media to support woman across the world.

Cait Orton, Student Welfare Advisor at Richmond upon Thames College says “International Women’s Day is a platform for us to celebrate equality and all that is great about the women who work and study at RuTC and the people who support them.”

She continues to say “the day will allow us to honour all women, past, present and future, cis-gendered and trans of all ages, ethnicities and cultures, and recognise the challenges women still face in 2017.” The day will help to promote positive action to achieve a level playing field for all staff and learners.
