The panel included Chris Barker, Art Director for the Haymarket Network, who has “hands on experience of the London 2012 branding guide and its application” and was “very impressed with the standard of work and the professional level of presentation.”
The students were briefed to design the brand for the 2024 Olympics by choosing a country that has never hosted the games before. With a seven-week deadline, Chris said that he was “impressed at how polished everything looked in the short time available” and could see their designs evolving over time.
Martin Tullett, Design Director for the Haymarket Network, also spoke highly of the RuTC students work and said that the way they approach projects “as complicated as an Olympic Games brand identity” is “intriguing” and thought that the work produced was of a “high quality” and showed a “depth of research.”
One of the projects included a lampshade designed by one of the students for the athlete’s accommodation which Chris called the “highlight.”
