BTEC business students Hardeep Madhan and Andrew Storey have achieved a ranking of 163 in the Institute for Financial Studies Student Investor Challenge, a competition containing over 8000 teams.

Spectacular music gig

On February 11, first and second year BTEC music students put on a spectacular gig showcasing seven different bands and performing over 18 songs. Second year students also assisted back stage with the lighting for the show.

Cooking up a storm

On February 7, Catering students Rosie Buckle, Freddie Davis and Ben Harris reached the regional heats of the Nestlè Toque D'or cookery competition, winning £500 worth of catering equipment for the College.

On Tuesday 4 February, A2 media students visited BBC Broadcasting House in London to sample life at the most advanced digital broadcast and production centre in the world.

On February 5, former A level student Oddie Mehraj visited the College to give a talk to students about apprenticeships. Oddie graduated from Richmond upon Thames College in 2013.

New York trip for Dance Students

In January, BTEC dance students spent a week in New York as part of an educational trip. The students were treated to workshops at some of the city's most prestigious dance schools including The Ailey School and the Martha Graham Dance School.

French film society trip

On Tuesday 28 January, the College's Cercle Français organised an outing at the Cine Lumiere in South Kensington to see the film Renoir. Twenty-two students from AS, A2 and IB French saw the film, which recounts the last years of the Impressionnist painter, Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
