World Book Night celebrated

On Wednesday 23 April, College staff member Helen Berry took part in the annual World Book Night celebrations by giving away free copies of the Nora Roberts novel Black Hills.

In April, A level student Touba Alemzada won the College's spring term Jack Petchey prize. She was nominated by her peers for her outstanding commitment to the college Islamic Society.

Seven students from the College have successfully secured conditional offers for this year's intake at the prestigious universities of Cambridge and Oxford.

Teacher's study guide published

Richmond upon Thames College French teacher Dominique Entwistle has recently had her third A level teaching guide published by educational resource provider, Zig Zag.

On April 9, the College held an awards presentation for over 140 staff members who had given over 25, 20, and 15-10 years of service. The celebratory event saw staff members receive commemorative awards and gift vouchers.

Silver for badminton duo

On 5 April, A level students Caroline Cooper and Alice Zou took badminton silver at the British Colleges Sport National Championships - held at the University of Bath.

Spring term taster sessions

Top chairman visits College

David Dein, former vice-chairman of both Arsenal Football Club and the Football Association, visited the College on Wednesday 2 April to deliver an inspiring talk to business and sports students.

King Lear performance

In March, BTEC performing arts students Mila Tahir and Bianca Mardegan appeared in a performance of King Lear at Richmond's Orange Tree Theatre. The pair played a variety of parts in director Imogen Bond's modern adaptation of the Shakespeare classic.

In March, HND graphic design students worked on a live brief for the London Museum of Water & Steam after the Kew based attraction underwent a £2.3 million redevelopment.
