Esports Level 3

Becoming an Esport athlete is a career of tomorrow. Esports, also known as electronic  are a form of competition using video games and often takes the form of organised, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, individually or as teams.

 

There has been a huge explosion in their popularity recently. Esports combine science, technology and business to give a greater range of transferable skills to enable you to build on your skills for the future.

 

A large new employer of esports has recently opened in the Westfields Shopping Centre in London and universities are now offering this a degree, so there has never been a better time to join a course for a career of tomorrow!

  • What will I study and learn?

    The course is assignment based and includes the following modules:

    • Introduction to Esports
    • Esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis
    • Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in the Esports Industry
    • Health, Wellbeing and Fitness for Esports Players
    • Games Design
    • Psychology for Esports Performance
    • Business Applications of Esports in Social Media
  • How is the course assessed?

    The course is assignment based so you will be working on projects throughout the year that will contribute to your final grade.

  • What skills will I need for the course?

    A passion for the subject and an interest in esports and/or gaming would be beneficial. 

  • What formal entry requirements will I need?

    Minimum requirements - 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C/9-4 including English or Maths at grade 4

    OR

    Level 2 Diploma in Esports plus GCSE English or Maths at grade 4.

  • What are my progression options?

    This will lead to Extended Diploma in Esports, esports employment or a range of esports/ ICT/science courses at university.

  • Are there any costs involved?

    No, but there may be costs for trips.

  • Are you aged over 19?

    Students aged 19 or over on 31st August directly preceding their academic year may be required to pay tuition fees for that year of study. Advanced Learner Loans may be available for students studying at Level 3. If you are aged 19-23 as at 31 August and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 you may not have to pay fees, provided the qualification meets the legal entitlement at that level – Please enquire for further details.



    Students who are 19-24 years old with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) issued by the Local Authority are not required to pay course fees (ie tuition fees are free). Students will be required to provide a final copy of their EHCP provided by the LA as evidence.
