BTEC First Extended Certificate in Forensic Science has been designed to deliver the key scientific principles vital for both scientists and citizens of the future and lead to further progression or employment. The qualification is appropriate for learners of all abilities who will benefit from a practical and applied approach to learning in a vocational context.
You will study eight mandatory scientific units and for optional units which are carefully selected to get you ready for our Forensic and Criminal Investigation BTEC Level 3 course or employment. These include Monitoring the Environment and Investigating a Crime Scene.

Unit 1 Principles of Science and Unit 6 Scientific Skills are assessed through two exams. All other units are assessed through coursework. The optional units will all be assessed through coursework.
Minimum Requirements - 5 GCSEs at grade 3 including English and Maths at grade 3.
