Early Years Educator (Workforce) Certificate Level 2

The aim of this qualification is to prepare you for working with children between birth and five years with knowledge of children up to seven years, or to progress onto the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) CACHE level 3 diploma.

 

The course is arranged around the following themes:

  • Introducing the role of the Early Years Practitioner
  • Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
  • Play, development and learning for school
  • Professional development

There are 14 mandatory units and 2 optional units making a total of 33 credits.

  • Co-funding

    If you meet the criteria for co-funding, then you may be entitled to pay a reduced amount. Co-funded courses are courses that are paid for entirely or in part by the government.

    The total co-funded amount for this course is: £994

  • What qualification or experience do I need to start the course?

    During the course, you will need to be working or volunteering for a minimum of 250 hours in a child care setting.

  • How will I be taught?

    The course includes 2 hours classroom-based teaching per week and you will be required to spend at least 2 hours per week on independent study and set tasks. You will also gain experience in your child care setting.

  • How will I be assessed?

    You will be allocated an assessor who will observe you in your workplace setting. You will also complete a series of set tasks and will need to pass all 14 mandatory units and 2 optional units.

  • What qualification will I get?

    Successful students will receive the Introduction to Early Years Education and Care CACHE Level 2 Certificate.

  • What can the course lead to?

    Once you have completed this course, you could progress on to the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) CACHE level 3 diploma or go on to work in roles such as a nursery assistant, a classroom assistant or a pre-school assistant.
